New Techniques

At the moment I am taking a drawing and painting class. This has been great so far and I am learning new things each week.  Tonight we tried out some techniques for painting involving using different household products (yes I thought it was strange to start with).  I was pretty impressed with some of the results though. Have a look and see what you think

these first few images use cling film to create the petal effect in flowers

Again using cling film to create the effect of water

Here I used salt to create the effect of snow. Unfortunately it doesn't show up too well on the photos but it is quite effective. I found dishwasher salt (right) to be the best at creating the crystal effect

This was a stormy sky effect made on wet paper using gravity to create the effect of rain (I tilted the paper)
